Calm Moves Companion helps you organize the information behind sell, buyout, and defer scenarios, explore estimated costs using figures you enter, and prepare questions for qualified professionals. The application does not recommend a particular decision, so you remain in control of what comes next.
How can I explore the financial considerations of keeping the house?+
Start by organizing the figures a mortgage professional may consider, then estimate the mortgage, property tax, insurance, utilities, maintenance, and a possible buyout. The app lets you explore potential housing costs and prepare for a mortgage qualification conversation. It does not determine eligibility or predict lender approval.
What is a spousal buyout in Ontario?+
A buyout generally means one spouse keeps the matrimonial home and pays the other an agreed share of the equity, often by refinancing the mortgage. Ontario family law can apply differently depending on individual circumstances. The app provides general educational information and a Home Buyout Scenario Planner so you can estimate figures to discuss with qualified legal and mortgage professionals.
Will my lawyer handle the house decision for me?+
Your lawyer advises you about your specific legal circumstances. Calm Moves Companion is separate educational software that helps you organize information, explore hypothetical scenarios, and prepare questions before professional conversations. It does not replace legal, mortgage, tax, financial, or personalized real estate advice.
Is my information private?+
Your information is associated with your account and handled according to our Privacy Policy. Calm Moves does not share your entries with your ex, lawyer, or other users of the application. You do not have to use your real name. Many women tell us this is the first place they have been fully honest about the numbers.
Could I not just figure this out myself for free?+
You could, and some women do. The challenge is that general information can be scattered across many browser tabs and disconnected from the figures and questions you are trying to organize. Calm Moves Companion brings Ontario specific educational resources, interactive tools, checklists, and planning into one personal planning application.
How much does it cost and are taxes included?+
Calm Moves Companion is $47 CAD plus applicable taxes. It is a one time payment for lifetime digital access. Applicable sales tax is calculated and added on top of the $47 at checkout based on your location by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. For example, an Ontario purchaser subject to 13% HST would see $47.00 CAD product price, $6.11 CAD HST, and a $53.11 CAD total.
What is your refund policy?+
Calm Moves offers a 14 day refund period. You may request a refund within 14 days of your purchase date. Refunds are processed through Paddle, our Merchant of Record, at paddle.net, and remain subject to Paddle's processing procedures and applicable consumer protection laws. Upon a completed refund, access to Calm Moves will end.
